She leaves to mourn, her daughter Jennifer; granddaughters, Holly (Charlie) and Heather; great-granddaughter Stephanie; nieces, Heather (David) Smith, Elizabeth (Jordan) Klapman; and nephews, Scott (Dawn) Forster, James Forster and David (Michelle) Forster. Ora was born in Winnipeg on March 5, 1911 to James and Annie Forster. She was educated at Laura Secord School, St. Mary's Academy, University of Manitoba and Columbia University in New York. Before the Second World War, she accepted a Missionary posting to Jamaica and founded St. Christopher's School for the Deaf in Browns Town which is still in operation today. Alan's career in the Ministry took them to Moncton, New Brunswick, Drayton and Sparta, Ontario. In 1960, they returned to Winnipeg. Ora commenced her career as a Child Psychologist with the Society of Crippled Children and Adults, teaching pre-school autistic children which she continued to do well into her retirement years. Mother will be remembered for her clever wit, kindness to others, and stories of her adventures to Jamaica and overseas with her father. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the 2nd floor staff of Oakview Nursing Home, for their kindness and compassion during her six years with them. By Mother's request, there will be no funeral service, but a family gathering will take place at St. John's Cathedral Cemetery on March 5, 2011.
